eVestment's Top Hedge Funds In January

Industry tracker eVestment publishes a monthly list of the hedge funds - and the investment managers which run those funds - which are most viewed on its platform by asset owners and their consultants. It's always fun to see which firms get the most eyeballs, and, perhaps unsurprisingly, given that its strong 2018 performance was leaked to the media in January, Bridgewater Associates came top this month.

That said, at the fund level, Renaissance Technologies' Institutional Equities Fund, 1060 Capital's Opportunity Fund and BlackRock's Appreciation Strategy fund all beat Bridgewater's Pure Alpha Strategy into fourth place.

eVestment also publishes its list of hedge fund strategies which caught the eye of its subscribers. In January, fundamental equity long/short won out. Marshall Wace had the most viewed fund in this category in January.

Finally for this month, eVestment added the funds with the biggest change in viewership over the previous six months. Congrats to Gresham Investment Management's Enhanced Tangible Asset Program, which had the biggest bump in January. The rest came in as follows:
