eVestment's Top Hedge Funds In October 2019
Industry tracker eVestment's monthly viewership figures are in, and London-listed investment manager Man Group had the most viewed product on the eVestment platform this month, with the firm's AHL division's TargetRisk product receiving the most eyeballs from the institutional investors and their advisors who subscribe to eVestment's system. Canyon Capital's Value Realization Master Fund came in second, and Renaissance Technologies' Institutional Equities Fund third.
TargetRisk's October win also saw Man Group take the overall title at the firm level, beating out RenTec and AQR into second and third respectively.
As with every single month in 2019, fundamental long/short equity was the most viewed strategy, with Aquilo Capital Management's Aquilo Capital Fund being the most viewed product in that universe, and multi-strategy multi markets (AQR's DELTA Strategy) and fundamental long/short credit (Serone Capital Management's Key Opportunities Fund) claiming silver and bronze.
The interest in Man Group's AHL TargetRisk product was so great that it also made the product the fastest riser, which is defined as the highest increase in views vs. the previous 6 months rolling average. The same can be said for Man Group overall, which took the fastest riser in the firm category.
Strategy-wise, fundamental long/short credit was the strategy that received the most views vs. the previous 6 month average. we'll see if those products can carry their momentum over to next month and dethrone fundamental long/short equity.
