DWD Partners Launches Global Macro Hedge Fund

New York-based hedge fund manager DWD Partners has launched DWD Partners I LP, a global macro hedge funds, with $100mn of assets under management. The global macro volatility strategy used by the fund is designed to monetize discretionary macro views through options trading across Rates, FX, Equity, Commodity and Credit markets to deliver investors uncorrelated, asymmetric returns with low volatility. DWD Partners says that the strategy actively seeks to identify mispriced risks to protect against “events that are far too often destructive to investor portfolios”, according to the firm.

DWD Partners says that there are a number of structural challenges facing the asset management industry, as fixed income investors are increasingly forced to buy low or negative yielding debt, and equity investors are similarly frustrated by the risk-adjusted nature of their returns. DWD Partners says that it has a specific model which is designed meets these needs “in a more direct and sustainable fashion, while also addressing investor concerns around hedge funds in areas such as fees, alignment of interest and liquidity.”

DWD Partners is led by Danny Dayan, Founder and Chief Investment Officer. Dayan began his career as a risk management consultant advising on best practices to large asset managers and banks on their complex derivative portfolios across interest rates and equities. He worked for several years at Credit Suisse and Macro Risk Advisors in derivative sales with a focus on advising clients on hedging and trading strategies across the interest rates and foreign exchange markets. Most recently, he served as co-portfolio manager and head trader at a macro hedge fund employing complex derivative strategies across rates, FX, equities, commodity, and credit markets.

Aryeh Liwschitz is DWD Partners’ Chief Operating Officer. Liwschitz began his career at Bankers Trust in the Interest Rate Derivatives trading group and has worked at Morgan Stanley, Commerzbank, and Credit Agricole executing robust and profitable trading strategies.
