H2 2018 Hedge Fund Recruitment Outlook

Hedge funds could struggle to recruit the right people as demand for candidates with data science or engineering backgrounds is far exceeding supply, according to recruitment consultants. It comes as performance in hedge funds picks up. Single manager funds returned 1.43% in the first five months of the year, according to data from Preqin, while the May 2017 to May 2018 return was also strong with these funds returning 8.12%. Hedge funds typically build out their teams as performance improves and assets increase.
