Hedge Fund Liquidations Lowest Since 2011

Hedge fund liquidations dropped to their lowest for six years last year as performance picked up and investors renewed their interest in the sector, but launches still lagged behind. Reports from Hedge Fund Research show fund liquidations dropped last year as a result of industry asset growth accelerating. A total 784 funds closed during the year, which represented a decrease of 25% from the 1,057 liquidations in 2016. It was also the lowest number since 2011 when 775 funds were liquidated.
