Most Hedge Funds Don't Use Social Media
A new study by U.S. law firm Seward & Kissel shows that U.S. based hedge funds barely use social media outside of LinkedIn.
The firms' new Form ADV Study, which analyzes the nation’s largest hedge funds based on information filed with the SEC, shows that among all firms, 12% disclosed no social media presence at all, 44% reported one or more web sites, 32% reported one or more web sites and a LinkedIn page, and only 12% disclosed one or more web sites, a LinkedIn page and some other social media account such as Twitter or Facebook.
The survey also covered other data points, and found that only 23% of advisers in the Study disclosed a material decrease in the number of employees reported and only 31% of advisers advised separately managed accounts.
