Tori Weir Rejoins Morgan Lewis From Akin Gump

Tori Weir, who represents institutional investors in US and cross-border debt financings with a focus on secured and unsecured private placements, has re-joined Morgan Lewis from Akin Gump as a partner resident in London.

Weir also advises institutional investors and other institutional lenders in mezzanine financing and leveraged acquisition transactions. Additionally, she has borrower-side experience in bank financings and private placements of debt.

“With Tori, we further expand our strong institutional investor team globally and deepen our destination private placement practice in London,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Many large institutional clients have built up their London presence and are looking for sophisticated guidance on their international capital markets matters as part of our key services.”

“As a career private placement lawyer, Tori offers a wealth of experience to our clients looking for alternatives on both the front-end and restructuring side of the business,” said Jonathan Bernstein, leader of Morgan Lewis’s global finance practice. “She is highly regarded in the industry for both her command of the private placement market and her deep expertise.”

“Many of us know Tori well, and we are excited to welcome her back,” said Frances Murphy, managing partner of the London office. “Her familiarity with our collaborative culture and easy reintegration means that our clients will benefit from her exceptional skills and knowledge beginning on day one.”
