Help For Children (UK) Launches the 2025 Kilometres for Kids Half Marathon

Alternative investment industry charity Help for Children (UK) (HFC) has launched its annual physical challenge to raise funds for grantees.

This year’s challenge will be a multi-month collaborative endurance run culminating in a half marathon at Denbies Wine Estate in Surrey - a scenic yet demanding course with challenging hills.

The campaign, dubbed Kilometres for Kids (K4K), brings together an estimated 50 participants from across the alternative investments industry to collectively run 6,984 kilometres (km) – representing the estimated number of children helped by HFC (UK) in recent years – over three months before completing the half marathon on May 10th.

Participants represent major UK-based hedge funds, asset managers, banks, and service providers. Training is already underway, with runners logging their progress from around the world, including London, Rome, Singapore, Las Vegas, New York, Phoenix, and elsewhere.

The K4K challenge builds on the success of previous endurance events, including the Paras10 and Tough Mudder, which together raised enough money to support several new grants for child support services.

“Help For Children (UK) does incredible work to protect children at risk from, or affected by, abuse, funding vital programmes that make a real difference in their lives. The K4K challenge is a fantastic way for our industry to come together and make a tangible impact. After the success of past endurance events, we’re excited to take on this new challenge, raising funds and awareness to support children who need it most, right here in the UK,” said Jack Inglis, Chairman of HFC (UK).

HFC (UK) funds essential programmes providing education, intervention, and treatment services to protect vulnerable children and victims of abuse and support survivors. Supporters can donate to the cause via the JustGiving page here.
