Canadian Alternative Mutual Funds Begin 2021 In The Green
The Scotiabank Alternative Mutual Fund Index, an equal-weighted index of funds that are classified as Alternative Mutual Funds under Canada's National Instrument 81-102, began 2021 in the green, with January returns up +0.76% to extend the index's winning streak to three months.
Equity-focused funds fared better than their credit cousins, with the former finishing January up +1.12% versus +0.52% for the latter. Alternative equity focused funds returned +21.33% last year.
