Scotiabank Alternative Mutual Fund Index Down In October 2020
The Scotiabank Alternative Mutual Fund Index - which tracks the performance of the nearly two-year old Canadian Alternative Mutual Fund industry - was off very slightly last month, falling -0.61%. Year to date, the index is down -0.12%.
Funds that are more equity focused pulled back -1.07% in October, the second consecutive month of losses. Credit focused funds fell only -0.09%.
Returns for the index are calculated monthly on an equal-weighted basis. Index constituents are limited to funds that are classified as
Alternative Mutual Funds, as defined in Canada's National Instrument 81-102. Scotiabank doesn't require a minimum track record or AUM for the index constituents at present.
